This made me remember how intrigued I have always been by bodies as vessels. Honestly, I find any vessel to be fascinating if it does an exemplary job at showcasing its contents in an undisturbed state. Glass jars, potted plants, bodies of water… they all seem to have a mystical quality that I am drawn to. It feels like a treat to be able to observe something that is suspended in a mass of some sort. I wanted to create forms that have an ethereal presence. I feel that acrylic paint is behaving in a way that pleases my desire to see forms trapped within each other. I will continue to explore these topics.
